I’ve known Joey for many years, and finally had an opportunity to work with him on a joint project, helping our mutual client make a major upgrade to his property and sell it for an increased profit. Joey handled the design and project management of the newly developed and constructed space, which included a master suite with full bath and walk-in closet, a new family room, and a laundry area.

Joey with Downs Design Group has an amazing ability to visualize a space. His creativity and ability to mingle existing pieces with new pieces is a true asset when redesigning an existing space or a new one.
I have worked with him on many commercial Class A office interiors with budgets that range in price from $10,000 to over $300,000. He is very organized and responsive and has has extensive knowledge of product lines and great relationships with his vendors.
I think the key to his success is that he takes the time to do the work on the front end of a project to ensure that he understands the culture, environment, BUDGET, and overall look that is desired.

Its a treat to work with a designer that doesn’t just show me one line of furniture. He can combine the elements and splurge on certain pieces and scale back on others to fulfill the overall final look. He knows that I have deadlines and the work that he does makes me look good or better said great!

I really enjoyed working with Joey at Downs Design Group, Inc. He had a great attitude and lots of good ideas.
We were moving into a new condo with one child and another on the way. He understood that I wanted to have fun in the kids room and bathroom but wanted my bedroom to be more of my grownup retreat. He had wonderful ideas (not all we used) to keep within these lines.
The living room and dining room he understood needed to be elegant, yet used everyday and still kid friendly but work with the condo. He definitely understood what I was talking about when I had ideas and didn’t take it personally when I didn’t like something, he just kept trying to hone in on what I wanted. Deadlines were met, budgets we were within range (a bit over, but when are you not), and all in all a great experience.
He did a lot of the shopping and looking around which saved me time and then we would approve or deny things as he provided ideas.
I had great access to vendors I might not have known about and ideas I wouldn’t of thought of (ottoman for living room built with storage space in my specific fabric I liked), a woman who made me a painting in a pattern I liked but in the colors I desired.

Joey Lang from Downs Design Group helped us transform our 1951 San Francisco house into a cozy, comfortable retreat that we wanted all along.
Joey helped us pick the furniture, wall surfacing materials, paint, and accessories throughout a three-bedroom, 2000 sq ft house.
Joey is really great with details and he has an amazing eye for the design. Working with him was easy, and although it took a while for the entire project to complete (about 9 months), we couldn’t be happier with the result.
Joey was also great about incorporating low cost items or our existing furniture, where budget did not allow for higher end items.
