Created by Ian and Betsy Prather in May 2017, the initial idea behind the Texas Keto Couple was to form a group for sharing Keto recipes with friends and family.
We looked at many Keto coaching groups online, but they were for people more advanced in the ketogenic lifestyle. New people were not treated well and were expected to figure it all out on their own.
No one should be treated poorly just for wanting to learn and improve. Therefore, creating a group for people new to the Keto way of life became our goal, a safe place to get answers to questions without being treated rudely or belittled.
Let’s face it; there is a lot to learn when it comes to transforming our way of eating, weight, and health. We know this is not a cookie-cutter lifestyle, but we have the knowledge we have discovered through shared experience that everyone can benefit from.
Our main challenge as an online Keto coach was learning about the latest technologies we needed to serve an extremely fast-growing group. Still, we persevered because we firmly believe that each of our individual members is a person that matters in this world.

On Super Bowl Sunday of 2018, more than 315 friends and family joined the TexasKetoCouple group, where we shared Keto recipes and pictures of the foods and answered questions about how to get started for the newest members.
It all started with us stepping out of our comfort zone. With some encouragement from dear friends, we decided to make a video showing people how to make a Ketogenic pizza.
We mentioned it in our group and asked people to join and share the recipe with their friends and family, and our online Keto coaching group launched to the moon! That video has now been viewed more than 80000 times.
As the leading Houston weight loss center, we have taught ourselves many new things, utilizing technology to serve an ever-growing group of people seeking an online weight loss coach for better health and wellness.
