Frequently Asked Questions

What is 3D laser scanning in construction?

3D laser scanning in construction is often referred as high definition surveying. A 3D lase scanner can often integrate surveyor data (coordinates) and embed into its workflow.

What is 3D Scanning (LiDAR)?

LiDAR stands for Light Detection and Ranging.  LiDAR uses laser pulses or infrared waves to shoot and bounce back signals. The bounce back signals are then digitally recorded and  accurately calculate the distance to each object from the time between the emission of the laser pulse and the return of the pulse.

How Does 3D laser scanners work?

By taking millions of precise measurements per second, LiDAR sensors not only capture and produce a 3D rendering of an object, but they also record the position, shape and behavior of objects that are in the beam’s path. Refer to our blog for more information.
